SARGUS DETENTION CENTER
ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

Pursuant to Rule 7 ( C ) of the Ohio Rules of Juvenile Procedures, reasons for a child to be detained in the Detention Center are as follows :

  • To prevent immediate or threatened physical or emotional harm to the child.
  • The child may abscond or be removed from the jurisdiction of the Court.
  • There is no parent, guardian, or custodian or other person able to provide supervision and care for the child and return the child to Court when required.
  • Taken into custody under the authority of a warrant issued by the Court.

Note: Youth who are brought to the Detention Center by anyone other than Law Enforcement or other appropriate Court personnel will not be admitted into the Center.
