GENDER SPECIFIC PROGRAM
SCHOOLING

It is the expectation of the GSP that residents will not miss school for reasons other than medical appointments and emergencies, and family or individual counseling. Our educational environment is located on grounds and consists of a structured setting made available from a state certified teacher. It is operated through St. Clairsville Public Schools. We work in collaboration with the childs home school in order to meet their requirements for a smooth transition back into the home school environment once the program is completed.

Youth involved in the system are often behind in their academics. It is our goal to do as much as possible to get them on course. Coursework is modified to meet the IEPs and the individual needs and limitations of each youth. When applicable, youth will be assisted with GED preparation or credit recovery via online learning programs.
